Healthcare Human Trafficking Training

"The H.O.P.E modules are invaluable to our nurse practitioner students as they venture into the workforce in a few short months. Currently, the education on human trafficking is lacking in the curriculum. The H.O.P.E. Training bridges the gap in knowledge, teaching students how to recognize potential victims of human trafficking, but also how to intervene and provide resources to help the victim leave the trafficker. Following completion of the modules, many students said that they feel more knowledgeable and more confident in their ability to identify a potential victim. Further, students have said that the training taught them cues to watch for when interacting with patients that would alarm them to a possible trafficking situation. Finally, they said that their view of what a human trafficker and victim look like are far different than the stereotypes they envisioned. My hope is that the students will take this information and apply it to their practice, to help us safely intervene in cases of human trafficking."

“In January 2022, MedQuest College integrated the HOPE training program into our school to help educate the healthcare workers of tomorrow by bringing awareness to the growing problem of human trafficking in America. We anticipated many questions but didn’t realize the impact this training program would make. We have seen an increased vigilance among our team regarding the danger of human trafficking. Our students feel encouraged to make a difference with their enhanced knowledge base. We are sharing this information with our clinical partners and witnessing their interest in learning how they can become a part of the change! We are excited for the possibilities this could bring to the thousands of victims of human trafficking and are proud to play a role in building a culture that is educated on recognizing the signs of human trafficking and empowered to make a difference!”
