Safe House Project is honored to host the 2nd “Freedom Requires Action” event at the United States Capitol in Washington D.C. on January 23rd. This 2-hour event brings together policymakers, corporate executives, survivors leaders, and community advocates to highlight the multidisciplinary strategy that is being used to combat trafficking in the United States, and galvanize communities in the next frontier in the fight against trafficking.

Tameka O’Neal is the Vice President and Chief Provider Experience Officer at Novant Health. She has been a trendsetting leader in the healthcare industry for over 27 years with a diverse background in healthcare. Her previous roles include Medical Billing and Coding, Practice Administrator for OB/GYN and Physical Therapy, Director of Patient Access, Medical Staff Services Specialist, and Director of Vidant Health’s CVO. Tameka is constantly seeking new challenges and opportunities for personal and professional growth. She often says she has lived her life in reverse, by having children first and then enrolling in college as an adult learner later. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Management from the University of Mount Olive. In December 2021, she furthered her education and obtained her Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management. Tameka is also a Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) and Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM). Tameka originates from Eastern, NC and in July 2017, she made the decision to move herself and her family to Charlotte to work at Novant

Health as the Director of Medical Affairs for the Greater Charlotte Market. She was then promoted to the Senior Director of Credentialing & Medical Staff Operations for Novant Health in May 2019. She did the unthinkable in merging the Central Verification Office with the Medical Staff Office to make a more streamlined process for providers. In June 2021, she was promoted to a newly developed role and named Vice President and Chief Provider Experience Officer. In balancing work and family life, Tameka serves on 3 boards in the community and enjoys her 4 grandsons. Currently, she is a member of the Mecklenburg County Women's Advisory Board, Local Advisory Committee for LISC of Charlotte, and Safe Alliance. She believes in God first, family second, then everything else.
